Accommodations
Accommodations have been arranged in homes of CFM families and other parishioners in Taleigao, Caranzalem, Dona Paula and the surrounding villages. Some of the houses are bungalows of the Portuguese style and some are of modern masonry structure. All the homes have present day amenities and facilities. The families that have volunteered are respectable and will be good hosts.
Arrangements have also been made in The International Centre, a three star hotel, located at Dona Paula, about two kilometers from the venue, and with The Bethany Sisters a religious congregation at Bambolim, also approx. two kilometers away from the venue.
For priests & religious arrangements are being made with the Salesian Community located at Odxel, Dona Paula close to the International Centre, and with the Diocese
Delegates wishing to arrive prior to the 10th Sept 2010 and extend the stay beyond 14th Sept. 2010 should inform the accommodations sub committee in advance.

Connectivity
AIR – Dabolim is the international airport at Goa, which also caters to domestic flights. This airport is well connected to all the major airports of India. On an average 26 domestic flights, including low cost carriers, come in daily. Some international airlines such as AirArabia, Qatar Airways, Sri Lanka Airlines have flights from the West i.e. USA & Europe coming into Goa. Some charter tour operators from UK, Sweden, Germany, Russia operate directly to Goa.
ROAD – Bus/ luxury coach services ply daily from Goa to Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and other cities in the neighboring states. Delegates coming in by road should alight at Panaji.
RAIL – Goa is well connected by rail to other parts of India. The Konkan Railways and the South Central Railways services link Goa to the other cities in India. Details of services and timings can be obtained from the web sites www.
Those travelling by train should alight at either of the following stations :
Karmali – 9 kilometres away from Panaji by road.
Margao or Madgao – 35 kilometers away from Panaji by road.
Vasco – 33 kilometres away from Panaji by road.
At the airport and rail stations prepaid taxi counters are available.
For delegates arriving on the 9th September and 10th September 2010 collective pick up arrangements will be made by the organizers.

VISA REQUIREMENTS:
Indian Missions abroad are the right place to acquire your Visa to India. You may seek a tourist visa to India, business visa to India, student visa to India, employment visa to India, transit visa to India, or an entry visa to India, from these Indian missions abroad. The Embassies of India, High Commissions of India, and the Consulate Generals of India, will be happy to help you get a Visa to India. For application forms, required documents, fees and processing time delegates are advised to refer to the offices of the Indian High Commission/ Consulate and the authorized web sites in their country.
TYPES OF VISAS:
Tourist Visa: Is issued for 6 months, 1 year and 10 years. The period of stay in India (for each visit) is 6 months only.
Entry Visa: Entry visas are issued only to people of Indian origin. Such visas are valid for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years.
Business Visa: i)Valid for 6 months/one year with multiple entries. A letter (on company letterhead) from Sponsoring Organization indicating the nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay, places and organizations to be visited incorporating therein a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses, etc. should accompany the application.
ii) Long term Business visas for ten years (multiple entries) in case of US Citizens and five years (multiple entries) for other nationals are available only to those who have set up industrial/business joint ventures in India. This fact, along with the details of joint venture in India must be mentioned in the sponsorship letter.
Student Visa: Valid for six months to one year with multiple entries for bona fide students to pursue regular studies at recognized institutions in India. A letter confirming admission from such an institution along with evidence of financial arrangements for stay in India should accompany application. In case of admission in medical or para-medical courses in India, a letter of Approval or "No Objection Certificate" from Indian Ministry of Health is also required. Likewise, for admission in graduate or post -graduate courses in Engineering or Technical institutions in India, a letter of approval or a No Objection Certificate from Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education) should be submitted. For research purposes detail synopsis of the research project, countersigned by the sponsoring institution in India should be submitted.
Transit Visa (IN PERSON ONLY): Valid for single/double entry for maximum stay of 15 days for bona fide transit purposes only.
Missionaries: Valid for single entry and duration as permitted by Government of India. A letter, in triplicate, from sponsoring organization indicating intended destination in India, probable length of stay, and nature of duties to be discharged should be submitted along with guarantee for applicant's maintenance while in India.
NOTE: Processing of applications for research and missionaries may take up to three months.
Journalist Visa: Journalist visas are issued to professional journalists and photographers for a maximum of three months only.
Conference Visa: Conference visas are issued for a period of 1 month, or for the duration of the conference only. A letter of invitation from the organizer of the conference is to be submitted along with the visa application.
Note: Conference visa is issued only if Govt. of India has given permission to hold the conference. This permission is addressed to the Embassy and not to the individual.
Govt. Of India regulations do not permit visitors on other visa to attend/ participate in a conference, hence delegates are advised to preferably obtain a conference visa.
Approval of the event has been applied for and is expected by January 31st 2010. Approval details will be displayed as soon as received. Letter of invitation will also be provided once the approval from Govt. of India is received.
